Due to business expansion, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Civil Engineering Draftsperson to work full-time within our business.As a Civil Engineering Draftsperson, your role includes (but is not limited to) the following: Develop and prepare detailed technical drawings, blueprints, and plans for steel frames and related components using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Ensure all designs comply with Australian building codes, standards, and company specifications. Incorporate client specifications and engineering standards into structural designs and layouts. Work closely with civil engineers, structural engineers, and architects to understand project requirements, objectives, and specifications. Examine project plans, structural calculations, and specifications to determine the feasibility, potential challenges, and necessary materials. Create 3D models and visualizations for proposed steel frame structures to assist in project presentations, client approvals, and construction planning. Conduct regular checks and reviews of technical drawings to ensure they meet company quality standards, engineering principles, and regulatory requirements. Participate in internal quality control processes and peer reviews to maintain high standards of drafting output. Ensure all revisions and updates to drawings are documented and distributed to relevant stakeholders. Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, bills of quantities, and material take-offs for steel frame structures and components. Provide technical support to project managers during project planning, execution, and post-construction reviews. Assist in evaluating and selecting materials, components, and equipment for compliance with project requirements. Participate in site visits and inspections to verify that construction is progressing in accordance with design specifications and drawings. Keep abreast of new developments, technologies, and practices in civil engineering, steel frame construction, and CAD software. Requirements - capabilities and competencies Have at least one (1) year of relevant work experience. A diploma in Civil Engineering, or a related field. Proficiency in using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, etc.)to create technical drawings and 3D models. Basic understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and building codes. Knowledge of structural design, particularly in steel frame construction, is a plus. Ability to interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications accurately. Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and precision in drafting work. Ability to identify discrepancies in drawings and plans and rectify them efficiently. Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with engineers, architects, and other team members. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including engineers, architects, and project managers. Basic problem-solving skills to address drafting and design challenges. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards. Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software for document management and project coordination. Experience in steel frame construction, drafting for residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects, or working with multidisciplinary teams is a bonus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
