Opal Bag Solutions have an exciting new opportunity available in Thomastown for a Site Manager.
This is a critical key leadership role for our Bag Solutions business leading all operational, engineering and maintenance activities for our Thomastown manufacturing site.
This role will focus on developing and implementing manufacturing strategies to optimise business results through dedicated implementation of Opal Manufacturing Excellence principles.
This role has 5 direct reports, and there are approximately 100 onsite staff.
You will contribute to the success of Opal by:
Implementing proactive strategies and training on site to ensure excellent safety KPI resultsWorking to bring together and continually engage our current workforce across the siteCollaborating successfully with your peers in sales, finance, logistics, supply & planning to optimise all business results in safety, output, customer service and profitabilityLeading the business to further develop a culture of engagement, cooperation & successUsing your lean manufacturing expertise to achieve world class standards across productivity and qualityCreating and influencing a continuous improvement cultureWe are able to offer a varied career journey with experiential learning gained from cross-functional and lateral moves.

Specifically for this role, we expect you will have;
Experience in a manufacturing operations leadership role with proven track record of continuous improvement successLean manufacturing expertise and knowledgeExperience in implementing business systemsWell-developed people leadership, influencing, negotiation, change management and conflict resolution skillsAbility to motivate, coach, mentor, lead and supervise a large cohort of onsite staffLeading EBA negotiations in evolving & changing organisationsExposure to the commercial as well as the operational business environment with a well-developed all-round business acumenFor more information please contact Annik Pearson on or jump right in by sending us your CV.
