Job Title: Process Engineer
Join our team at Fortescue's Cloudbreak OPF as a Process Engineer and be the driving force behind optimizing Fixed Plant performance and boosting production capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide guidance to metallurgical technicians for accuracy of laboratory results and safe use of equipment.
* Engage with OPF plant operators on operational philosophy and maintenance to ensure quality and throughput.
* Generate daily, weekly, and end-of-month reports on OPF production and metallurgical outputs.
* Monitor plant performance and collaborate with Operations and Maintenance teams to maximize product throughput and availability.
* Assist in the management of radiation gauges and compliance with the Radiation Safety Act.
* Contribute to plant availability by supporting Engineering, Reliability, and Maintenance in material selection and maintenance cycles.
* Ensure all activities comply with Fortescue's safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Tertiary qualification in chemical, process, metallurgy or related discipline.
* Experience in the mineral processing industry (operational/technical) with some experience in consultancy or EPCM house and supervisory roles being desirable.
* Strong knowledge of dry and wet mineral processing iron ore unit operations, including familiarity with iron ore processing (DSO or beneficiation).
* Metallurgical testing methodology and lab operations expertise.
* High level of verbal and written communication skills with proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
* Strong data analysis, reporting, and problem-solving skills with SAP and delay accounting system experience being desirable.
* Radiation (fixed gauge) training (desirable).
