About the role
Mater Hospital Brisbane are seeking Operating Theatre Assistants (Orderlies) to join our Perioperative team in South Brisbane. The Operating Theatre Assistant is a part of the perioperative team delivering consistent, high-quality care to adult and obstetric patients undergoing surgery.
We are recruiting to positions in a permanent full-time capacity. This position supports our daily operations, and successful candidates need to be available for a 24/7 roster.
Responsibilities:
* Setting up the theatre for surgery with the required equipment
* Patient positioning and transfers
* Clean contaminated equipment and other used items as required
* General housekeeping duties e.g. cleaning beds, organising linen, restocking of equipment, and waste management
About you
To be successful in your application for this position:
* Work as an active team member to support all work tasks
* Commitment to ongoing service excellence
* Ability to prioritise and organise work with minimal supervision
* Available for a 24/7 roster
* Currently hold a Certificate III in Health Care Support (Operating Theatre Practice) or Certificate III in Health Services Assistance
* Minimum of two years previous experience in an Operating Theatre Assistant role would be highly desirable
