Your new role
As the Digital Evidence Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert specialist investigative and analytical digital forensics service for the purpose of providing independent expert evidence in criminal and civil court proceedings conducted by or on behalf of SAPOL.
You will be responsible for identification, preservation, analysis, and presentation of digital evidence in a legally appropriate manner. You will also provide leadership, development, and training to the Digital Evidence Section Staff, as part of the Financial & Cybercrime Investigation Branch.
What you'll need to succeed
Sound knowledge of IT systems and practices.
An understanding of court procedures in matters of criminal and civil litigation.
Experience in electronic evidence analysis.
High degree of initiative and motivation to undertake complex investigations.
A demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills to enable effective communication with all levels of staff, management, other organisations and courts of law.
Demonstrated ability to prepare thoroughly researched clear and concise written documentation, which will facilitate effective reports and the provision of evidence in courts of law.
Proven ability to compile, analyse and interpret complex IT data and to formulate conclusions.
Proven ability to work under pressure and under limited supervision.

Salary
ASO6 $98,478 to $104,165 per annum plus super.
