In 2023, Mudgee High School is a school of 780 students, more than 100 of whom identify as Aboriginal. It is a rural comprehensive school catering for students from Years 7-12. It is in the Central West of New South Wales in a region well-known agriculture, viticulture, gastronomic offerings and tourism. The school is more than a century old and has a well-respected history of academic, cultural and sporting achievement, as well as a biennial musical production. The school is a leader in student wellbeing focused on Positive Behaviour for Learning (P4BL), recognition of achievement, and strong relationships with families and the broader community. The comprehensive curriculum offered at Mudgee High allows students to access to a wide range of courses for both university and non-university pathways, and employment. Stage 5 elective courses are vertically integrated, broadening further what the school can offer. Mudgee High has a strong relationship with its supportive community, including an active Parents and Citizens’ Association and local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group. Year 12 students each year engage in charity fundraising that involves the entire community, and local businesses and industries support our students and staff with expertise and resources.
