Full time, continuing position with the University of Sydney Policy Lab An excellent opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to drive operational excellence and strategic alignment across diverse teams and functions Base Salary from $140,913 17% superannuation About the opportunity As the Operations Manager, you will provide expert advice and guidance through development, translation and implementation of strategy and planning within the Sydney Policy Lab. In this role you will manage the ongoing operations of a world-class, internationally recognised, whole-of-university multidisciplinary initiative and its precinct. Leveraging your experience in this space, you will ensure effective general management of operational and administrative systems, processes, and programs to meet these requirements in alignment with university policies and practices. Your key responsibilities will be to: lead the day-to-day operating activity for the Sydney Policy Lab including effective planning, delegating, coordinating, staffing, organising, and decision making to ensure business objectives and goals are reached manage the ongoing operations of a whole-of-university initiative and its precinct contribute to the overall success of the Sydney Policy Lab by establishing and maintaining productive and effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders provide operational leadership to the Director throughout the implementation of the Sydney Policy Lab’s strategy and related business plans, monitoring, and reporting on progress provide effective financial management support for the Sydney Policy Lab manage the efficient utilisation and deployment of resources for the Sydney Policy Lab and its related entities manage risk and workplace health and safety within the Sydney Policy Lab. About you tertiary qualifications with extensive relevant experience in operations management, business administration or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience excellent time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and achieve required outcomes and effectively deliver results proven flexibility and capacity to adapt to changing circumstances and environments and, when necessary, navigating through ambiguity experience in financial management and literacy with experience managing budgets and controlling income and expenditure for a project previous experience working in the higher education/tertiary sector or at a complex, multi-faceted organisation.
