The Emergency Preparedness and Response Unit (EPRU) is responsible for whole-of-Agency emergency management for the Department of Health.
The Role:
Under the direction of the Director, EPRU the position works as part of a statewide team to contribute to and support the delivery of emergency management priorities by:
* Planning, coordinating, and delivering approved projects or strategic initiatives.
* Conducting detailed research and analysis.
* Preparing high-level written communications for a variety of audiences.
You will need:
* Demonstrated high level project management and organisational skills including the ability to formulate and manage complex and diverse projects, and demonstrated ability to meet agreed time, cost, and quality outcomes.
* Well-developed operational understanding of contemporary emergency management issues and practice or demonstrated ability to acquire such knowledge.
* Demonstrated high level ability to communicate, consult and liaise with a wide range of stakeholders, including interpersonal liaison, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills to achieve desired outcomes.
* Demonstrated high level written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, accurate and concise documents, including high level correspondence, policies, plans, procedures, briefings, and reports.
* High level research, analytical and planning skills, including the capacity to think strategically, identify priority issues for attention and develop appropriate solutions within the political, social, and organisational environment.
Details of appointment:
Fixed term full time, day worker (with on-call) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of twelve (12) months.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: General Stream, Band 6
$107,899 to $122,292 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
Qualification from a recognised tertiary institution or equivalent professional experience in any of the following subject areas:
* Policy and Planning
* Emergency Management
* Project Management/Coordination
* Other subject area/s relevant to the position.
Position Features:
* A flexible working arrangement may be negotiated.
* In the event of a major emergency, the occupant of this position may be required to work outside normal business hours to support DoH and/or broader whole-of-government emergency response.
* Must be available to participate in an on-call Duty Officer roster.
* Regular intrastate travel is a requirement of this role.
