Job ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute strategic communications plans for large-scale business change and transformation activities, ensuring they align with organisational objectives and project goals.Work closely with senior executives, leaders and their teams, to define and implement effective communication plans through engaging content across multiple internal channels including executive briefings, presentations, video, email, intranet, live events, and broadcast platforms.Act as a business partner and adviser to key stakeholders and work in partnership to identify organisational change impacts across different teams, implementing appropriate communication to ensure changes are adopted and engagement is enhanced.Provide strategic advice and coaching to senior leaders, identifying business challenges and recommending tailored communications approaches.Track and report on communication effectiveness, using data insights (e.g., engagement, reach, sentiment) to continuously improve and strive for best-in-class standards.Contribute to a positive, high-performing team culture, sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, and mentoring junior team members.Minimum RequirementsAt least 7-10 years of experience in communications, with experience in delivering successful issues management and transformation programs.Bachelor degree in Communications or related field.Ideally, knowledge or experience in the telco or technology industries, or other regulated industry.Proven hands-on experience leading integrated communications campaigns, including advising and supporting senior leaders.Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple complex initiatives simultaneously and successfully drive them to completion.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organisation and manage senior executives’ expectations.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to simplify complex information and create compelling content for a range of audiences.Strong issues management experience, including the ability to identify potential issues before they arise and address them effectively.Demonstrated resilience and the ability to navigate complex challenges in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.Experience in working closely with external communication disciplines such as media relations, government relations, investor relations and regulatory affairs.Work Environment and Benefits3 days in the office, 2 days remote – with flexible hours to suit!Inclusive paid parental leave, up to 14 weeks for the primary care giver.All Optus employees have access to resources, webinars and support via the ‘Parents at Work portal’.Own your own growth by accessing an extensive online and facilitator led learning catalogue.Connect at work through our employee-led volunteer groups: Culture Connect, Elevate Women, Disability Network, Express Yourself (LGBTQIA+), United Veterans, Yarn Network, Wellbeing Network and Young Professionals.Vibrant campus life, variety of facilities including restaurants, cafes, gymnasium, GP, and post office.Free Optus bus from Macquarie University Metro Station (every 6-8 minutes); morning and afternoon!
