About the Role
Within this role you will play a critical role in adapting our Remote Weapon Stations (RWS) to specific customer equipment such as vehicles, weapons, and other interfacing systems. Your work will ensure optimal system performance through dynamic analysis, testing, and software tuning. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with key internal stakeholders, including the CTO, Project Managers, and Chief Engineers, as well as with customers both locally and internationally.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
* Analyze dynamic characteristics of structures, mountings, weapons, and other interfacing systems through measurement, modelling, or assessment of customer data.
* Develop expertise in RWS control systems, hardware, and software.
* Support system upgrades and stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies.
* Conduct simulations, modelling, and testing to optimize control systems.
* Lead activities to demonstrate system accuracy and performance, including attending test firings and field demonstrations.
* Design and implement control algorithms to integrate with the product’s overall architecture.
* Ensure all software modifications follow Quality and Engineering Management policies.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maximize RWS performance across multiple configurations.
* Participate in design reviews and contribute technical expertise to enhance project outcomes.
* Anticipate challenges and risks to mitigate impact on performance.
* Diagnose and resolve control system issues to maintain product performance.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
* 1–3 years of relevant experience.
* Eligible for Defence Clearance and Foreign Work Authorizations under Australia’s Military Secrets Act.
* Relevant licenses and certifications as required.
Location:
This position is based in Canberra, Australia and will require travel to various customer sites, both domestically and internationally.
