The Role:
An exceptional opportunity awaits a highly motivated Energy Market Analyst/Senior Analyst to support the transition to a low carbon, sustainable global economy. This role will see you work in the Technology, Markets and Trading business with responsibility for our clients battery storage investments and operation. The role will be based in Melbourne, reporting to the Senior Manager of Market Analytics.
Key responsibilities:
1. Conducting detailed analysis and reports covering technical, engineering, commercial, and financial aspects.
2. Utilising your expertise in data science to analyse energy markets and drive insights.
3. Work with large datasets, using database programming languages such as SQL, and proficiently using Python for data analysis and visualization.
4. Applying optimisation programming and solvers to support decision-making processes.
5. Taking initiative and effectively prioritising multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
Requirements:
6. Bachelor's degree in engineering, analytics (e.g., Data Science, Engineering, Operations Research).
7. Experience with Plexos modelling.
8. Passion for data science and energy markets.
9. Proficiency in database programming languages, particularly SQL.
10. Knowledge of data science, including proficiency in Python and experience with handling large datasets and advanced visualisation techniques.
11. Familiarity with optimisation programming and solvers (e.g., Pyomo, CVXPY, FICO Xpress).
12. Strong ability to develop detailed analysis and reports covering technical, engineering, and commercial aspects.
13. Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, and prioritise multiple tasks effectively.
14. Japanese language skills are highly desirable but not essential.
