About the role
An exciting opportunity for a Transport Specialist to join our growing team!
This role will be responsible for manage day-to-day operations for key clients, from bookings, trip management and exception management, through to invoicing and reporting. To do so, there will be a key emphasis on vendor management of both internal and external warehousing and transport service partners.
Key Accountabilities
1. Manage the day-to-day operation of all domestic, FTL transport services
2. Elimination of unrecoverable costs
3. Book and manage transport of all shipments for our clients with appointed service providers
4. Maintain and update records of all shipments and provide activity reporting and key dates to client
5. Request and provide documents and electronic messages to transport providers within the required timeframe
6. Confirm in writing the delivery date/time with client, providing 24hrs notice
7. Update the system with delivery and de-hire dates, as well as any notes that are relevant to the operation
8. Understand job costs and approve supplier invoices
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will possess the following:
9. 2-4 years’ experience in transport operations preferred or similar roles
10. 1-2 years in customer facing roles
11. Excellent understanding of the domestic FTL transport industry
12. Strong customer service skills and attention to detail
13. Experience managing customer requirements for transportation
14. Demonstrated ability to work and solution issues independently
15. Cargowise (Wise-Tech) experience and knowledge advantageous
