Events Duty Technician
1. Casual position | Weekdays, nights, and weekends
We are looking for people to join our Building Services team on a casual basis. They will manage base building technical services and general building operations during events. Responsibilities include tasks such as responding to plumbing issues, adjusting temperature settings, resolving lift operational issues, investigating gas odors, and ensuring the safety of items awaiting repair.
As a Duty Technician, you'll ensure the functionality and safetyof our facility; requiring technical skills, attention to detail, and efficient task prioritisation. You'll collaborate with teams to address maintenance needs promptly and contribute to creating a safe environment.
Our precinct operates 24/7, with work often during early mornings, late nights, and weekends, especially during peak event periods between August and March. You'll be assigned shifts based on event requirements across our precinct.
Responsibilities:
2. Provide assistance and troubleshooting for technical issues encountered by employees or patrons, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building operations.
3. Keep records of maintenance activities, technical issues, and resolutions.
4. Respond promptly to technical emergencies, ensuring minimal disruptions to operations.
5. Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance needs and potential hazards.
6. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
7. Effective communication of technical information and strong problem-solving skills.
8. Organisational skills for task and inventory management, with attention to detail in documentation and procedures.
9. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, handle emergencies, and work varied hours.
10. Collaboration and contribution to the work environment, with demonstrated experience in facilities maintenance.
11. Proficiency in maintenance tools and equipment, along with a thorough understanding of OH&S practices and safety regulations.
12. Proficiency in using technology for maintaining electronic records.
13. First Aid certification.
