That’s refreshing.It’s time to take charge and become part of a team where you will be responsible for the commercial management of large-scale high-risk infrastructure construction projects.As the Senior Commercial Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading the optimisation your team’s commercial outcomes in both the head contract and key supplier contracts ensuring that assets are constructed to the required technical and quality standards whilst achieving time and cost metrics.With 3 days in the office, 2 days’ work from home, this role is based in Southbank, Victoria and is part of the Commercial Team in Infrastructure Operations and Delivery.This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:Fully accountable for the commercial management during the construction of large-scale high-risk infrastructure project(s) to achieve expected organisational growth while meeting safety, community, environment, schedule and budget expectations.Foster the development and growth of a small team of Commercial Managers / Advisors.Project and contract governance, management and compliance focusing on project delivery, value extraction and risk management. Apply specific processes and principles to initiate, plan, manage and deliver the project contracts within the project constraints (e.g. scope, time, budget).Develop and maintain relationships with client(s) and key supplier stakeholders ensuring successful client and stakeholder outcomes throughout the construction of the projects.Advise on the commercial impacts of changes to any relevant legislation, laws, regulations, standards and codes.Risk management of projects from a commercial and contract management perspective.Identify, assess and manage the commercial opportunities within the projects including active participation in lessons learnt and post implementation review activities to improve our overall service offering to clients.Responsible for the assessment and management of contract claims (upstream and downstream) and providing strategic and pragmatic advice to internal decision makers.Initiation and management of dispute resolution proceedings (in conjunction with our legal team) for your projects and your team’s projects.Deliver efficient and effective contractual obligations across the client and supplier contracts.Promote and influence a continuous improvement culture, continually seeking new ways to add value.You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:Significant commercial or contract management experience in the delivery of complex infrastructure projects is desirable.Relevant training or qualifications in Business, Finance, Accounting, Law or equivalent specialty.High level of commercial acumen with an ability to clearly assess risk and implement mitigation measures.Advanced negotiating, influencing, written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated success in delivering outstanding customer service and developing strong and positive relationships with customers, colleagues, and peers.Ability to track budget impacts and influence project profitability and time outcomes.A real place to belongWe celebrate unique voices, refreshing perspectives and diversity in our team.
