This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Supervisor to manage significant gas capex projects in Melbourne for a Tier 1 infrastructure company.
THE ROLE
Our Gas Networks & Services Team is expanding, and we are looking for a motivated Construction Supervisor to join us at either our Clayton or Derrimut office. In this role, you will report to the Project Manager and lead a team of frontline field and contract personnel. Your team will be responsible for delivering high-quality capital expenditure (capex) construction projects valued up to $10 million throughout the gas distribution network in the Melbourne area.
Your primary role will be to introduce more efficient supervising, planning, and work practices across the CAPEX and OPEX cycles to enhance our productivity and operational performance.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
Oversee and supervise field and contract personnel constructing the gas distribution system.Undertake various aspects of planning, estimating, scheduling, and issuing relevant construction work to field crews and subcontractors.Responsible for ensuring that the performance of both employees and subcontractors meets the standards of Downer, client and regulatory policies and procedures.Assist the Project/Site Manager with project requirements, crew availability, and day-to-day operations to ensure cost efficiency.Proactively and visibly promote and drive a Zero-Harm culture, guiding and coaching others, following the Downer cardinal rules.ABOUT YOU Ideally, you should have a trade qualification or similar (E.g.
