TheRole
In this role you would be responsiblefor the direction, delivery, and growth of the partnership withJabiru Area School. This partnership is an essential element toCGS’ operations in Kakadu, providing access for CGS studentsto be immersed into life in a remote community, while alsofacilitating improvements in both schools, as a direct result ofthe partnership.
In addition to this, the CommunityPartnerships Manager will aid CGS students’ opportunities tobuild and nurture relationships with other community organisationssuch as the Stars and Clontarf Foundations, FaFT, WARC, ALPA andJabiru Bombers Footy Club; providing opportunities for connectionthrough service learning or through participating in and supportingcommunity events in Kakadu.
The role would also require timespent working as a Remote Programs teacher with the CGS KakaduProgram; delivering inquiry-based learning experiences in anexperiential learning and residential programsetting.
This is a permanent, fulltime opportunity based at Jabiru Campus in Northern Territory.
KeyDuties
1. Implementing the program with staff at the CGS remote base, work with the Remote Programs Leadership team to lead the proactive and reactive strategies to learners' medical, pastoral, learning and behavioral care.
2. Teaching a specialty area at Jabiru Area School to students ranging from preschool age to secondary school, each class for the equivalent of two specialist lessons a week.
3. Provide voice and choice where possible within the community activities for CGS students to access.
4. Leading and coaching teachers, trainees, visiting teachers,and support staff in their engagement with the Jabiru Area School and other partner organisations.
5. Leverage relationships within Jabiru Area School and CGS to maximise the potential of the partnership to improve outcomes for JAS indigenous students.
6. Assist the Head of Kakadu to create and maintain a strong sense of trust, confidence and intimacy within and between the Remote Programs team, CGS staff, learners and their families.
7. Manage parents in liaison with the HoDD. HOH and HOS
8. Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours.
Skills andExperience
9. Previous experience working in remote environments as a qualified Teacher
10. Demonstrated leadership in teaching and learning, curriculum development
11. E Capacity to work in a residential program setting would be advantageous.
12. Build new and nurture existing stakeholder partnerships
13. Pro-actively manage student and employee issues
14. Establish & maintain an inclusive & supportive CGS community
15. The ability to obtain a NT teacher registration and an Ochre card (NT version of WWCC)
16. A light rigid bus licence will be required
17. Wilderness First Aid Certification
18. Ability to teach music, dance and/or drama would be desirable
