Our WA team is continuing to grow and diversify our range of clients, especially in the impact assessment and renewables industries. We are looking for an early career / graduate Botanist to join our Perth-based botany and ecology service to support this growth.Operating as part of an established Environment Planning and Approvals team, botanical workflows are varied, including high level due diligence assessments, reconnaissance and detailed flora and vegetation surveys and species-specific targeted searches.Our project work spans the breadth of WA bioregions, including the south-west supported by our Margaret River office, Swan Coastal Plain, Wheatbelt, Mid-west, Pilbara and Kimberley. Our project diversity and multi-sectoral approach means that botanical workflows are not concentrated on one industry group, and will take you to a variety of parts of Western Australia that people would not normally see.Your Impact:Deliver environmental surveys and impact assessments of terrestrial ecosystems, specifically flora and vegetation.Assist in and supervise field surveys, primarily flora and vegetation.Production of high-quality technical reports.Identify issues and problems and develop & deliver appropriate solutions.What you need to succeed:Tertiary qualifications in Botany, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Natural Resources or related field.Up to 4 years' experience in either an environmental consultancy or the public sector including undertaking ecological/environmental surveys and report production.Understanding and application of relevant legislation that underpins ecological projects.Well-developed taxonomic skills.Ability to use information technology including Microsoft Office software and appropriate field equipment.Experience working with a range of environmental planning projects would be well regarded.Solid report writing skills.Comprehensive interpersonal and relationship building skills.Driver's licence essential, 4WD experience and accreditation well regarded.Flexibility to travel.What's on Offer:Along with a competitive salary, RPS provides a diverse and inclusive work environment amongst a team of dedicated and pragmatic environmental experts.
