We have a great opportunity for you to join our client in the City of Greater Bendigo, Victoria.
A brand new 102 place purpose built centre is opening soon, providing Three-Year-Old and Four-Year-Old Kindergarten programs as well as long day care.
The centre will feature outdoor play areas and a community room for child and family services such as maternal and child health, and community meetings and playgroups.
About the Role
This is a cook position where you'll work closely with the Director and leadership team to run a high-quality kitchen producing nutritious food.
You will be working in a purpose built, commercial grade kitchen responsible for preparing food for the service throughout the day.
Effective communication with other team members, families and children is essential to foster a supportive and collaborative centre environment.
* Plan and prepare a nutritious rotating menu;
* Prepare food in line with the Early Learning Victoria's (ELV) Eating and Drinking: Health Nutrition and Food Safety Policy, considering specific dietary requirements and cultural appropriateness;
* Utilise time management skills to ensure meal organisation, preparation and delivery within expected time frames;
* Order food supplies and manage stock effectively.
About You
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
* A Food Safety Supervisor certificate;
* Experience working in a commercial kitchen and managing a budget;
* A strong understanding of nutrition, food handling and hygiene requirements;
* Advanced time management skills;
* Able to work in a flexible and changing environment;
* A certificate in Food Handling and a current Working with Children's Check, First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification (or willingness to obtain).
Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year based on the title, job description, and location.
