About the Role We have received funding for a Senior Specialist Children's Family and Domestic Violence position as part of the Multi-agency Investigation Support Team (MIST) based at Parkerville's Stan and Jean Perron Child, Youth and Family Centre in Midland. This specialised team is a partnership between the WAPOL Child Abuse Squad and Parkerville's Therapeutic Specialist Team, which supports children, young people, and their families impacted by child sexual abuse. This role is offered on a fixed term (11 months), full time basis working 30.4 hours / 0.8 FTE, at our Armadale location. If you would be keen to join us, we are now seeking a passionate and committed professional to join our team who can: Provide specialist therapeutic interventions for children, young people and their families impacted by Family and Domestic Violence (FDV) as part of the multi-disciplinary team investigating allegations of Child Sexual Abuse. Provide systemic family interventions informed by FDV specialist knowledge to children, young people and their families who have been impacted by family and domestic violence /child sexual abuse and other childhood trauma. Provide trauma-informed and child-inclusive therapeutic interventions with a focus on systemic family work and FDV interventions. Use advanced skills and knowledge to provide case consultation and expert advice on Family and Domestic Violence to the MIST multi-discipline team. The successful candidate for this role will hold: Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or other relevant field with specialist knowledge Family and Domestic Violence theories and frameworks and at least three years post-graduation experience. Demonstrated and evidenced experience and knowledge of trauma informed practice in relation to children, young people and families impacted by Family and Domestic Violence. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of working with children, young people and their families impacted by Family and Domestic Violence. Experience in providing systemic therapeutic interventions to children, young people and their families impacted by Family and Domestic Violence. Demonstrated and evidenced experience in providing clinical and reflective practice supervision for practitioners who work with children and their families to support the development of advanced Family and Domestic Violence intelligence. Ability to build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders and service specific stakeholders. Evidenced understanding and practice knowledge of the neurobiological, social, emotional and developmental impacts of trauma from abuse. Ability to remain flexible to accommodate the needs of children, young people and families and service requirements, inclusive of afterhours. Demonstrated understanding of the principles of advocacy and knowledge of the Child Advocacy Centre model, Child Protection Legislation /Family Law and Criminal Justice System as it relates to Child Protection matters.
