The role
As the General Manager Mine Closure and Environmental Services you will lead and manage the operations, resources and staff of the Mine Closure and Environmental Services Branch, inclusive of the implementation and engagement of regulatory reform, improve and change the management approaches providing high level technical advice to the department’s executive, minerals and energy sector and general public and industry organisations in relation to the various legislative acts.
Additionally, this role develops and manages internal governance measures to ensure compliance with reporting standards, protocols and risk management, manages and contribute to the division’s community engagement activities, strategic, and promotional opportunities, liaises with internal and external customers, improves the services and efficiencies within the Branch and ensures appropriate skills and expertise is available within the Branch to ensure optimum performance and multi skilling of staff linked to the workforce plan and divisional requirements.

While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies (permanent, fixed-term, full-time or part-time) within the department for the next 12 or 24 months, from the date that the recruitment breach period has been finalised.
To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments) at the time of application.
