Job Summary:
We are currently searching for a talented Financial Accountant who would report to the ANZ Financial Director. As a financial accountant, you will play a key role to lead, develop, and improve accounting procedures and oversee/manage internal controls over financial reporting. Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and statutory compliance in areas of responsibility, including statutory financial statement filings.
The Role:
As the Financial Accountant, you will play a key role within the team providing multiple finance and accounting services to various teams. You will be involved in the preparation of financial statements, advice and guidance on financial systems and processes, performing month-end reviews, and performing additional services our Finance team provides, including but not limited to:
1. Management of the external audit(s) and preparation of the annual financial statements.
2. Prepare and lodge statutory reports as required (e.g. payment times reports, ASIC industry levies, ABS returns, NZ Stats returns, Modern Slavery Reporting, ESG reporting, etc.).
3. Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes.
4. Ensure compliance with global accounting policies.
5. Coordinate and interact with offshore finance shared services finance team on various accounting and tax matters.
6. Coordinate the accounting and finance integrations of acquired companies, as required.
7. Ensure compliance with local statutory and regulatory reporting requirements (e.g. payroll tax, GST, WHT, income tax reporting, filing of statutory financial statements, etc.).
8. Work with local external tax compliance firms.
9. Working knowledge on payroll-related activities (e.g. superannuation legislation, single touch payroll reporting, payroll tax, work cover, etc.).
10. Assist with management of local banking relationships along with business support.
11. Be the face of the Finance function for local associates – facilitate closure of queries and clarifications regarding various Finance matters (e.g. Payroll, Expense Reports, Policy documentation, etc.).
12. Work on various other ad hoc Australia and New Zealand accounting and finance projects, as required, and prepare Australian Bureau of Statistics reports.
13. Assist with management of Corporate Card programs and corporate policies reviews.
Education and Experience:
* Previous experience in a Finance focused role in a corporate environment.
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business and a CPA/CA Qualification.
* Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of IFRS/USGAAP.
* Familiarity with Concur, SAP ARIBA is advantageous but not mandatory. Knowledge of PeopleSoft ESA or other large ERP systems is preferred but not essential. Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Excel is required for the role.
* Exceptional communication and relationship building skills as the role requires someone who can work well within a team. The candidate should be comfortable working across different time zones, including India, Australia, New Zealand, UK, Singapore, and the US. The role is suited for someone who is proactive and self-driven.
* Ability to prepare financial statements and manage external audit processes.
* Be the face of the Finance Function for local Associates and help with the resolution of a variety of finance matters.
