Aged & Disability Support (Community Services & Development)Full timeAttractive salary + Super + Salary SacrificeAbout Us?The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established to provide a coordinated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.The Disability Services unit provides services to NDIS participants in SEQ, including Coordination of NDIS plans, Allied therapies, and advocacy support, fostering a holistic approach to improve access for local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.About the Role?The NDIS Therapy Assistant – Social Work will work with NDIS participants across the IUIH network to improve outcomes for participants and families by supporting the NDIS Social Worker. This role includes supporting the Allied Health team and collaborating with external NDIS providers and other mainstream services. Tasks will be delegated under the supervision of Allied Health Professionals.Within this role, you will be required to:Provide culturally appropriate human services for clients and their families under indirect supervision from a Social Worker.Support the social worker in providing culturally appropriate assessment, counselling, and referrals.Contribute to program activities, procedures, and protocols within the Disability team.Work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.Provide outreach and community-based case support based on client needs.Assist in planning, implementing, and reviewing the participant’s care plan.Participate in regular oversight reviews of participant’s therapy plans.About You?Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD).Current Criminal History Check.Valid Working with Children Clearance (QLD Blue Card) – Required prior to commencement.Valid Disability Worker Screening Check (QLD Yellow Card) – Required prior to commencement.2+ years of studies in a relevant qualification in Social Work or Human Services.Desirable, but not mandatory:Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and/or communities.What Can We Offer?At IUIH, we operate in a diverse community and encourage applications from all ages and genders, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse groups, the LGBTIQ+ community, veterans, refugees, and people with disabilities.Be part of Australia’s largest community-controlled Aboriginal Health Service.Access to in-house training and programs.Weekly Staff Wellness activities and all staff gatherings.Opportunities to attend community events such as NAIDOC.Onsite Presto’s Café at our Windsor Office.
