The key duties of the position include The Role Directorate of Logistics - Explosive Ordnance (DLOG-EO) requires a facilities planning manager to support logistics planning of emerging capability projects and Defence initiatives, as well as sponsor representation in the delivery of EO facilities. Specific duties include: Engage with end-users to understand and articulate detailed facility user requirements for the development of infrastructure proposals. Participate in the facility's functional design development process, considering regulatory implications, especially with regards to explosive ordnance requirements. Contribute to, and/ or facilitate contractual and WHS related activities prior to and during construction within the explosive ordnance network. Manage and engage with internal stakeholders responsible for the delivery of approved explosive ordnance logistic infrastructure. Contribute to, and/ or facilitate commissioning, handover, and facility acceptance. Prepare quality correspondence, including detailed reports, for higher delegate and committee consideration. Establish key relationship with Defence agencies and external service providers About our Team DLOG-EO comprises of four functional areas in support of the ADF EO enterprise; covering Storage and Distribution, Contract Management, EO Licensing, Facilities Planning and Delivery, and Logistics Capability Planning. In this role, the FPM will be part of a small team, supporting and reporting to Deputy Director Facilities Planning and Delivery. The Deputy Directorate contributes to strategic level estate and network planning, project development, gathering and interpretation of functional facility requirements, and representing Explosive Ordnance Branch (EOB) in projects assurance activities. Our Ideal Candidate Specifically, our ideal candidate will have: Experience with the development of facility or infrastructure proposals. The ability to understand and implement regulatory requirements in the process of the facility's functional design development. An understanding of the requirements for contractual and WHS related activities that are involved in the preparation stages and during the construction phase, involving hazardous environment. Be able to, confidently, manage and engage with internal stakeholders responsible for the delivery of infrastructure. Generally, our ideal candidate will have: The ability to work independently, with limited direction, take ownership of work elements, and deliver results while balancing competing priorities. The ability to develop briefs and project documentation. As such, excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Note: experience in project management, and experience and understanding in the logistics involved with storage and distribution of hazardous cargo/ dangerous goods would be an advantage.
