Job Description Collingwood Head Office Location Jetstar Engineering: A team that takes off together We rely on our engineers to deliver our superior safety standards, up to the second.They're the trouble-shooters, glitch-fixers and tech-experts who make sure we take to the sky safely.Helping our teammates soar is what we're all about, and with a new fleet of state-of-the-art aircraft, plus new routes being added, the sky's the limit.Ready for your next adventure?We have an exciting opportunity to join the Jetstar team as the Strategic Maintenance Planning Manager.The primary function of this role is the management of medium to long term plans and forecasts for Jetstar Engineering, whilst working across multiple business units to influence seasonal flying and revenue trade-off decisions.In addition, this role will be responsible for developing and maintaining effective feedback mechanisms with operational stakeholders, to support the development of a sustainable, reliable and commercially acceptable schedule.Reporting to the Senior Manager Engineering Operations, key responsibilities of this role include: Work with Network and Scheduling teams to develop and integrate a 2-5 year plan for Jetstar Engineering Act as the Engineering representative in airline-wide Integrated Planning forums Manage commercial and operational trade-offs to deliver an optimised flying and maintenance schedule Develop and/or revise supplier's labour agreements based on forecast demand (and for budgeting processes) every flying season Assess and revise maintenance standards on an ongoing basis Management of maintenance program tasks that ensures aircraft safety and compliance at all times Review planning performance metrics including deferrals, turn-around times, part movement, acquittal and capability management Support the Manager Maintenance Operations with review of schedule changes and ensure the maintenance requirements can be supported Responsible for the update and issuance of the 30-day Operational forecast to all stakeholders Guide and oversee long-term planners' activities Facilitate process improvement through collaboration and integrated planning Complete performance management process (i.e.KPI setting, regular feedback, periodic appraisals, development plans, etc.)for direct reports We are on the hunt for someone who has experience, qualifications and attributes including: Proven leadership experience in aviation, commercial, or planning role(s) Strong experience in strategy or business analysis Business, Commerce, Management or Engineering degree (desirable) Stakeholder engagement to Head of and/or Exec level Demonstrated leadership capabilities Ability to lead and manage change Strong problem solving abilities Knowledge of CASR Part 145/42 regulatory framework (desirable) Knowledge of industrial frameworks and challenges (desirable) Your life at Jetstar is unlike any other Live the travel dream: You and your nominated travel companions can takeoff more with our famous Qantas Group Staff Travel discount.
