Griffith Base Hospital is seeking an Emergency Medicine Staff Specialist or Visiting Medical Officer to join the Emergency Department. Reporting to the Clinical Director of Emergency Medicine you will provide clinical management and treatment of MLHD patients.
Each year there are over 19,500 emergency presentations and 600 births per year at Griffith Base Hospital. Griffith Base Hospital provides and a 24 hour Emergency Department (ED) with 15 ED spaces. The ED is supported by an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and also equipped with telehealth cameras to connect the team in Griffith with specialists across the NSW Critical Care Advisory Service.
St Vincent’s Private Community Hospital is located on the hospital precinct, providing the opportunity for a mix of public and private work. Griffith Base hospital is also the emergency backup with ICU and ED for St Vincent’s Private Community Hospital. The hospital is an interlinked clinical and teaching hospital, with 320 staff based there.
1. Holds Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia in Emergency Medicine
2. Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Emergency Medicine at the role delineation of the service.
3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
4. Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
5. Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
6. Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
7. Demonstrated commitment to behaviours which align to the NSW Health CORE values and MLHD Values, goals and strategies.
