An exciting and rewarding opportunity is available for a suitably qualified Geriatrician to join the Medical Services team at Portland District Health.
The primary role is to provide medical care to patients as a geriatrician while sharing responsibility with the team across acute, sub-acute and aged care and working effectively to continuously improve and develop the service.
About you:
* A tertiary qualification, Certificate, Registration, or Licence in the appropriate medical speciality.
* Medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
* Undergraduate medical qualification as a first degree is essential – MBBD MD or equivalent
* Appropriate speciality qualifications such as Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent is essential
* Must have a proven track record of excellence in aged care with a demonstrated commitment to continued improvement, team work and ideally research
* Must have a demonstrated and ongoing commitment to education of themselves, their colleagues, junior staff, other team members and medical students
* Must have a demonstrated commitment to organisational quality processes and other activities that improve patient care
* Solid knowledge of aged care with skills to manage complex patients
* Previous experience in the gerontology area.
