As we continue our journey of growth, Proplab offers an exciting opportunity for a passionate Underwriter to join the team Based in Perth!About the JobReporting to the Broking Team Leader, the successful candidate will be required to work collaboratively with the Underwriting Team. You will facilitate quality service as well as comply with standards set out in GICOP and internal SLA’s and guidelines. Key Objectives
To be first line of contact for Clients, answering calls promptly in a courteous and informative manner with referral if outside of your Authority or knowledge.
Respond to emails within 48 hours (outside of exceptions) in a courteous and informative manner.
Perform sound risk assessments in accordance with the Underwriting Guidelines and within your delegated authority All actions, including emails & phone calls to be properly documented in the Clients underwriting file.
Ensuring work is accurate and underwriting discipline and procedures are being followed.
Continue to develop your Knowledge and Underwriting, ensuring adherence to internal processes and guidelines.
Ensuring that work is processed in a timely manner to meet key business targets.
Maintain an active and effective diary system ensuring all tasks are actioned and followed up within time limits imposed by the General Insurance Code of Practice.
Identifying and reporting on ideas that result in the efficient use of systems.
Reporting any issues that you may identify to your Team Leader or Underwriting Manager.
Ad-Hoc duties from time to time.
Key Responsibilities
Be an integral part of the customer service experience.
Attend to general email enquiries in a timely and courteous manner.
Attend to phone calls in a timely and courteous manner.
Attend to new business, alteration, cancellation and renewal referrals within your delegated authority using sound risk assessment and adhering to Underwriting Guidelines at all times.
Assisting in determining coverage terms and conditions based on underwriting guidelines and company policies.
Collaborating with brokers to obtain necessary information and clarify underwriting requirements.
Identify and escalate opportunities for continuous improvement in processes.
Help motivate staff and maintain a high level of enthusiasm among the team.
Listen to all team members’ feedback and help resolve any issues or conflicts.
About you
At least 2 years' experience in insurance.
Tier 2 qualification.
Knowledge of the General Insurance Code of Practice.
Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
High level attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise & multi-task.
Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
Ability to meet service levels and individual KPI’s.
Decision making skills and ability to problem solve.
Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Self-motivated and a team player.
Can-do attitude.
