The Role
We are looking for a mechanical minded, proactive and result driven individual to join us in the role of Reliability Engineer within the Copper Smelter – Mechanical Maintenance
Reporting to the Superintendent – Mechanical Maintenance, you will have the ability to think logically and be determined to work towards finding favorable solutions and outcomes, valuing continuous improvement, whilst striving to part of a high performing team. The roster for this role is 5/2 4/3
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Daily monitoring and accuracy of downtime & time usage model system
* Work with production, maintenance and other stakeholders to identify and develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. Including use of root cause analysis, failure reporting and corrective actions system.
* Closely working with mechanical and refractory teams on furnace rebricks for QA & inspections
* Prioritise and recommend Improvement Projects and project justification.
* Project Management of Engineering Solutions, implement and performance monitoring
* Monthly report to senior management
The successful candidate will possess:
* Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
* Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in heavy industry
* Refractory knowledge & experience is advantageous
* Experience & training in condition monitoring (oil, vibration), root cause analysis & asset management
* Mechanical knowledge and understanding of conveyors, pumps, agitators and hydraulic drive systems
* Computer Management Maintenance Systems (CMMS) - SAP, Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge and CAD experienced would be favorable
