We are hiring a Leading Hand CNC Machinist to work out of our Henderson, WA Offices.
Job scope:
As the Leading Hand CNC Machinist, you join the team and take responsibility for the continued improvement of safety, quality, delivery, cost control performance and effective leadership of operations. We are seeking interest from candidates who can demonstrate experience working as a Leading Hand in a processing or manufacturing environment. This role will provide support to the Warehouse Supervisor, assisting with motivating the team to achieve key outcomes.
You will play a vital role in leading the team in our manufacturing and refurbishment process. You will be responsible for making sure the team set up and operate CNC machines correctly. Your leadership skills and expertise will contribute to the success of our projects and the satisfaction of our clients.
* Leading and inspiring your team to hit team Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Cash weekly targets
* The development of a safety-first culture within your team, to inspire and motivate the team to create and continually improve safe behaviours and processes.
* Continually improving your team’s ‘safe system and Quality of work by:’
o i) continually developing standard operating procedures
o ii) training your staff and verifying their competency to the standards and
o iii) enforcing the standards to mitigate business risk.
* Creating a high level of team spirit and engagement.
* Develop your team members skills in line with your team’s training plan, their career development goals and your team’s succession plan.
* Assist with the set up and operate CNC machines.
* Assist the team on interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
* Minimum of 5 years of leading a team and hands-on experience in Medium to Heavy Engineering.
* High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or degree in machining is a plus.
* Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
* Strong knowledge of CNC programming and machine operation.
* Ability to use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.).
* Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Strong commitment to safety and quality.
