We are seeking a highly skilled Research Officer/Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team in the Atherothrombosis and Vascular Biology lab.Job DescriptionThis role involves working on a range of biotechnological methods, including recombinant protein design/production, cell culture, flow cytometry, generation of functionalised nanoparticles/liposomes/microbubbles, flow chamber, intravital microscopy, ultrasound, MRI, PET, various fluorescence imaging systems, and various animal models of thrombosis, atherosclerosis, and inflammation.Key ResponsibilitiesParticipate in the design, execution, and management of translational research projectsApply broad and innovative approaches to resolve problems and develop new methodologiesPerform literature reviews and manuscript preparation for publication and presentation at conferencesCoordinate experimental tests and procedures, and analyse research dataRequirementsPhD in a relevant field, preferably biotechnology or pharmacologyUnderstanding of research areas related to mRNA therapeutics, nanotechnology, pharmacology, and cardiovascular diseasesStrong track record of publishing manuscripts and obtaining fundingExperience with grant writing, ethics applications, and supervising studentsSkills and ExperienceA strong background in immunology and/or platelet function, with an understanding of research areas related to mRNA therapeutics and pharmacologyRobust skills in grant and manuscript writing, and experience with ethics applications and processesDemonstrated ability to supervise, mentor, and foster the development of studentsWorking at the Baker InstituteFlexibility, professional development, and the opportunity to contribute to a research centre of world renownBenefits include generous salary packaging, an employee assistance program, modern offices and laboratories adjacent to the Alfred Hospital
