A little about the role
Reporting to the Recruitment & Panel Manager, the In-House Foster Carer Assessor will conduct and present foster care assessments using Key Assets Australia (KAA) and ACWA tools. You’ll assess the suitability of prospective carers across various frameworks, ensuring they meet the standards for fostering and kinship care.
Other Key responsibilities include:
* Conduct carer reviews and maintain up-to-date documentation, including matching checklists, household safe care plans, and VariADM.
* Complete addendum assessment reports as needed and handle additional tasks to finalize assessments.
* Ensure that all safety checks, references, risk assessments, and safety plans are completed thoroughly to determine applicant suitability.
The base salary for this position is $96,096.00 - $100,444.50 (based on 1.0EFT) + super + vehicle & fuel card + salary packaging options up to $15,900 per annum. This is a full-time, contract position ending in October 2025.
About you
To be successful in this role, you’ll come with:
* Degree-level qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Human Service or other relevant Allied Professional field.
* At least 2 years of experience as an assessor.
* Prior experience in adoption, foster care, child protection, welfare, or social care settings.
* Strong ability to compose clear, accurate, and concise reports, letters, and memos.
* Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and frameworks in Child Protection services across NSW.
