The Company
Our client is a small, growing not-for-profit organization that supports research and provides advice in the mental health space. Their support and work have led to some groundbreaking research over the past couple of years. They urgently require a talented Senior Accountant or Finance Manager to join the team and take ownership of the financial reporting process.
Position Type
3-month temporary position on an hourly rate with the potential to extend or permanent employment. Ideally you are immediately available as this role requires you to start mid-July.
The Role
Reporting to a top-quality CFO, both technically and interpersonally, your main responsibilities will include:
1. Oversight of the financial reporting process
2. Performing month-end balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
3. Managing all month-end tasks related to journal entries, including revenue recognition adjustments, and accruals to reflect current financial standing.
4. Ensuring accurate and timely preparation of BAS / FBT to comply with tax regulations and reporting requirements.
5. Analysing and preparing cash flow statements to optimize liquidity and financial planning.
6. Posting payroll journals and ensuring accurate recording of payroll expenses.
7. Facilitating end-of-financial-year procedures to ensure smooth financial reporting and compliance.
8. Coordinating and preparing for the upcoming audit scheduled for early September, ensuring all financial records are audit-ready and compliant with regulatory standards.

About you
9. Hold a Business or Commerce degree.
10. Possess CA or CPA Qualification.
11. Demonstrate a passion for working with for-purpose organizations.
12. Prior experience as a Senior Accountant or Finance Manager.
13. You enjoy hands-on engagements and excel in numerical analysis.
14. Proficient in MS Excel for detailed analysis and reporting.
15. Skilled in investigating issues and resolving discrepancies.
16. Capable of thriving in manual environments, with a knack for suggesting and implementing improvements.
17. Serve as a robust business partner to the CFO, facilitating deeper understanding and insight into organisational finances.
