Having recently invested in systems, processes, and people development, they are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Operations Officer (COO) to join their executive team to take their operational, customer, and growth strategies to the next level. Position Overview Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief Operations Officer (COO) will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing and optimizing the company's day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership in logistics and supply chain management, with a continuous improvement mindset and a passion for driving organic growth and strategic customer acquisitions. This role requires a hands-on, agile, and entrepreneurial leader who can inspire and manage a high-performing leadership team across Operations, Customer Partnerships, Business Development, Solutions Design and Commercial, all while implementing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and business growth. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership for all operational functions, to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives. Strategic Planning: Develop and execute operational strategies that drive growth, efficiency, and profitability. Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service quality. Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team, ensuring clear communication, accountability and providing ongoing coaching, support and guidance. Customer Growth: Maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders to ensure exceptional service and the development of new strategic customer partnerships. Financial: Manage operational budgets and financial performance, monitoring key metrics and take corrective actions as needed to ensure financial targets are met. Compliance and Safety: Ensure all operations comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies, promoting a culture of safety and regulatory compliance. Key Skills & Experience Required Industry Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or commercial leadership. Proven track record of driving operational excellence, delivering business growth, and managing complex operations across corporate and SME environments. Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is not essential but would be well regarded. Leadership Skills: Strong hands-on leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to think strategically and be comfortable to get the sleeves rolled up when required to develop innovative solutions to complex operational and commercial challenges. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and commercial problem-solving abilities, with a keen understanding of key performance metrics and financial management.
