We are seeking an exceptional educator and researcher to join our team as an Associate Professor in Engineering (Education-focused Academic).
About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of a new academic career pathway at Deakin University. As an Associate Professor, Education-focused, you will lead teaching teams in designing courses and materials that shape teaching across disciplines.
* Lead teaching teams to develop innovation in curriculum design to inform unit/courses and materials which influence teaching across the discipline within the university.
* Lead the discovery and adoption of innovative teaching practices at university level and deliver learner-centric, research-informed teaching practices across different levels / modes of delivery.
* Design collaborative learning opportunities that span the discipline within the university and involve learners, teachers and the community.
* Lead the development of effective assessment tasks and rubrics across discipline within the university and implement innovative practices to improve learning outcomes.
To be successful, you'll have:
* Demonstrated passion for teaching and learning.
* Ability to deliver effective teaching practices to improve student success and engagement.
* PhD in a relevant discipline.
* Distinguished scholarly learning and teaching in UG and PG programs, including innovative curriculum design and supervision to doctoral level.
* Nationally recognised reputation in the scholarship of learning and teaching underpinned by publications in quality journals, conference presentations and success in obtaining funding for education innovation.
