About the Role
The Transport Officer's role entails ensuring safe, punctual, and respectful transportation services for our clients to and from appointments at Kambu Health, Ipswich/Laidley Hospital, referred specialists, and, on occasion, to Brisbane hospitals for specialist appointments. Additionally, the Transport Officer may be tasked with transporting clients and their children to excursions within the Southeast region, focusing particularly on Ipswich, Scenic Rim, and Brisbane.
Within this role, you will also be required to:
* Provide transportation services for clients traveling to and from Kambu Health, including to and from specialist appointments, hospitals, x-ray, pathology, and various medical-related appointments.
* Adhere to professional standards and comply with all driving-related laws.
* Execute duties with minimal supervision.
* Assess clients' suitability for transportation and any associated risks.
* Follow all vehicle booking system policies and procedures and execute all necessary paperwork in a professional and confidential manner.
About You
* Current 'CA' Class Driver’s Licence valid in Queensland.
* A current Blue Card.
* Desirable experience in transporting people.
* Minimum understanding of vehicle mechanics, including fuel, tyres, and water.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals.
* To perform this role, it is essential that the incumbent is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991. A Confirmation of Aboriginality may be required from the successful appointee.
