About The HospitalGriffith Base Hospital is a 119 bed facility with 100 hospital care beds and 10 maternity beds. Each year we support approximately 19,500 emergency presentations, 2,500 operations and 600 births. We provide a 24 hour Emergency Department (ED) with 15 ED spaces supported by an Intensive Care Unit and is also equipped with telehealth cameras to connect the team in Griffith with specialists across the NSW Critical Care Advisory Service. The hospital provides a range of acute specialist services (resident and visiting) including Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, General Surgery, Paediatric Medicine, Oncology, Haematology, Obstetrics, Intensive Care, Respiratory Medicine, Endocrinology, Neurology, Rehabilitation Medicine, Renal Dialysis and Rheumatology.
Griffith Base Hospital RedevelopmentThe $250 million Griffith Base Hospital redevelopment will deliver Griffith and the surrounding communities with state-of-the-art health facilities and enhanced health services closer to home. All major health services at the Griffith Base Hospital will be housed under one roof, in the purpose-built three storey Clinical Services Building designed to support contemporary models of care.

Career Medical Officer (CMO) PathwayAvailable to doctors awaiting a training position with a GP College training pathway or doctors intending to work as CMOs.First year comprises Emergency Medicine, with essential training requirements including the Emergency Medicine Certificate (ACEM), DETECT, ALS1 and Emergency Management of Severe Trauma.What You'll Be DoingProvide first-line medical care to patients presenting to the Hospital, including assessment, investigation, treatment and referral for ongoing non-inpatient care or, on consultation with consultant specialists, admission/transfer for inpatient care and discharge of patients.
