Roles and Responsibilities:
Reporting directly into the Head of Finance, this role will collaborate closely with our Construction Director and Senior Project Manager to oversee the financial management of a state-significant project. This role requires a strong focus on financial performance, cash flow management, and commercial risk mitigation, while ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies. You may be asked to:
* Prepare and review monthly forecasts, cost variance analysis, and project performance.
* Manage all financial transactions, including international stakeholders.
* Oversee project risk management and support procurement alignment.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
* Support internal and external audit processes.
* Maintain cash flow forecasts and coordinate accounts payable/receivable functions.
* Manage foreign exchange exposure and hedging in collaboration with the CFO.
* Assist in commercial reviews of subcontracts and supplier agreements.
* Support in managing commercial risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.
* Participate in project meetings and assist with project review presentations.
* Support tendering activities and pricing opportunities.
To be successful in this role you will have:
* At least 10 years of experience in project accounting, preferably managing finances for large-scale construction projects.
* Relevant tertiary education in finance, accounting, or a related field.
* Professional accounting certification such as CA, CPA, or equivalent.
* Deep knowledge of revenue recognition principles specific to construction contracts.
* Experience with Coins or similar.
* Strong commercial insight and business awareness.
* Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders effectively.
