What you'll be doing
The NSLHD Nursing and Midwifery Workforce will be compassionate, competent, confident, contemporary, capable and committed to leading person-centred health care .
The registered nurse works as either a Primary Nurse to patients within a defined geographic area or as a relieving nurse as allocated by the Nursing Unit Manager or as delegated. You will develop your comprehensive nursing assessment skills and develop care plans with your patients to meet their needs identified. You will provide the hands on care to patients (including complex wound management; palliative care – support to patients and their carers, symptom management, end of life care; continence and catheter care; stoma care; support to the aged and or disabled or those with a chronic illness; plus much more. You will liaise with the patient’s health and non-health team to ensure the patient’s safety at home, and provide education and support to enable them to maintain their independence and to manage their health conditions. You will also work as a member of an excellent and dynamic nursing team with support from a range of Specialist Clinicians.

2. Registered Nurse –Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and relevant nursing experience.
3. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers and a diverse range of health and non-health care providers.
4. Demonstrated ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team, with an emphasis on service delivery, patient safety, quality of care and team cohesion.
5. Sound experience using electronic medical record systems and office applications, and evidence of personal time management capabilities and effective negotiation skills.
6. Current NSW Drivers Licence.
