Growing and Successful Wholesaler & Retailer St Peters location, Flexibility and WFH options Competitive salary on offer up to circa $100K S 12 months maternity leave contract Our client is a well-established, highly successful wholesaler and retailer, with year-on-year growth, that is customer centric and driven to achieve results. They source products across homeware, kitchenware, tech and appliances, with a focus on continually finding products that are on-trend and of appeal to their customers. In this 12-month maternity leave contract role (with potential to become a permanent role), you will work alongside another Buyer and be instrumental in driving and growing specific product categories and achieving forecasted revenue to deliver sales growth. This is your opportunity to work across a range of products such as homewares and furniture, where your ability to identify key growth opportunities will be critical, along with managing programs such as special buys. Key responsibilities include: Take ownership in establishing seasonal range plans and a product selection/sourcing strategy for the various categories, for private label and known brands, working closely with our suppliers to deliver the best products. Develop and manage range selection for the various categories based on trend analysis and customer demand, ensuring competitive pricing strategies to drive category growth Use data and insights to determine the sourcing, buying and import strategy Negotiate product prices, volumes and terms with overseas suppliers Manage and analyse reporting and financial plans to achieve margin, sales revenue and profit Prepare range reviews and post seasonal analysis, presenting the management team on a monthly and quarterly basis that would be suitable for retail and wholesale Determine profitable promotional plans for the business Manage stock, aged inventory and performance targets Monitor trends, globally and locally, along with competitor activity Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders To be successful within this role, you will have: 3 years category management/buying experience Ideally have worked within homewares, furniture or appliances Experience with NetSuite or similar, desirable Intermediate Excel skills Entrepreneurial mindset that seeks out opportunities Excellent attention to detail and communication skills Trend savvy – you know what customers want This is your opportunity to join an entrepreneurial and customer obsessed company where there are potential long-term career opportunities and flexibility/ work from home.
