As a member of the ATO Executive, you will play a significant leadership role across the ATO and be accountable for the stability and performance of the ATO production systems and ensuring the government’s policy agenda is successfully delivered. You’ll ensure we harness the innovative opportunities and improved services that new and emerging technologies can offer, while managing increasing demand and the need to keep our information and systems safe from cyberthreats. As the Chief Information Officer for the ATO, you will lead the Enterprise Solutions and Technology Group to deliver reliable, intuitive, contemporary and secure technology solutions that foster trust and confidence in the tax, superannuation and registry systems. You'll also undertake the role of ATO Chief Security Officer, responsible for directing all areas of security to protect the ATO’s people, information (including ICT) and assets. You'll be responsible for the oversight and have decision making authority for all security arrangements across governance, budget management, information, personnel and physical security areas. You will lead and oversee engagement with senior internal and external stakeholders including representatives from other government agencies, key vendors and suppliers. You’ll work across government and ensure that the ATO is a key contributor to the whole-of-government ICT reform agenda. You will have strong relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders to design and deliver contemporary, digital systems in pace with evolving community expectations and in line with digital services provided by other leading organisations. As one of our most senior leaders, you'll also naturally focus on leading by example, inspiring staff through all your interactions, while also influencing and demonstrating our cultural traits and positive behaviours. To be successful in the SES Band 3 Chief Information Officer role you must also have: a strong record of achievement delivering outcomes for the Government of the day in a tight fiscal environment. strong business acumen and in-depth technology expertise with demonstrated capacity to represent the ATO, build strategic partnerships and deliver change in a complex and challenging environment significant experience leading, shaping and delivering contemporary IT services and solutions and resolving new, novel and complex issues where there is no precedent.
