The Role:
The APP Group is looking for an experienced Product Management Coach with active TSPV clearance to guide and support teams in the successful execution of product management within a newly established Product Operating Model (POM).
As part of our growing presence in the Defence & Security sector, this is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking team working on diverse and impactful projects based in Canberra. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of helping teams align product strategy with customer and business needs.
Responsibilities: Coach and mentor product managers to optimise processes and foster a customer-centric mindset across product development stages.Lead training and workshops on key product management practices like prioritisation, discovery, roadmap development, and stakeholder management.Support teams in adopting best practices and agile methodologies to drive successful, value-driven products.Guide teams through critical product phases, ensuring insights from research, prototyping, and testing inform product decisions.Ensure compliance with government processes, policies, and regulations while embedding a user-centric approach into product strategy and delivery.About You: To be successful you MUST hold and maintain a TSPV Security Clearance (Top Secret Positive Vetting) for this role.Extensive experience in Product Management, including a solid track record in coaching, mentoring, and leadership roles.Deep understanding of agile frameworks and a track record of leading cross-functional teams to deliver successful, customer-driven products.Solid expertise in user research methodologies, including customer journey mapping, persona development, usability testing, and translating insights into design and product strategy.Ability to coach and guide teams through the product management lifecycle, ensuring they deliver products that align with both customer expectations and business objectives.Strong collaborative and communication skills, with experience working with diverse teams, including product managers, designers, developers, and business stakeholders.Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex data, identify opportunities, and drive decision-making.Familiarity with government processes, policies, and regulatory requirements is highly desirable, especially within the Defence& Security sector.Prior experience working in highly regulated environments, such as Defence or other government sectors, is a significant advantage.A rewarding career:
