About the role
We are looking to employ a Financial Controller to work closely with the management team, ensuring a clear understanding of the financial position and to support the managing director in strategic business initiatives.
The successful applicant will manage the day-to-day accounting activities and the preparation of accurate and timely management reports. The role would suit an experienced Financial Controller who has been successful in a professional services organisation that has been experiencing growth and diversification.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Management of the finance team, including;
* Supervising and assisting the finance team members responsible for banking, accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll.
* Supervising and assisting the finance team members who perform the monthly client invoicing and month end management accounts and processing of statutory reporting, including PAYG, Superannuation, Payroll Tax, FBT and BAS
* Oversight of the day-to-day processing, banking, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
* Prepare month end management accounts and reports.
* Ensure compliance with accounting principles and internal financial policies
* Coordinate audit process and liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies
* Support the Project Managers with timely and accurate project/KPI reports.
* Manage all statutory payments and reporting including PAYG, Superannuation, payroll tax, FBT
* Manage cashflow and finance facilities
* Assist in the continuous improvement of systems and processes
* Communicate effectively with project managers to ensure they have a clear understanding of the financial position of each project.
To be successful in this role, it is expected that you will have:
* CPA/CA qualifications with a degree in a related accounting field
* At least 5 years relevant experience in a similar role.
* Experience in project-based accounting procedures.
* Experience producing monthly management reports.
* Experience in utilising Netsuite as the ERP.
* Ability to lead and manage a team of finance professionals.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
* Outstanding communication skills within a professional environment
