Deliver high level clinical pharmacy and dispensing services at our Gladstone Hospital as the Pharmacist - Senior (Cancer Care).This role is responsible for the provision of patient counselling, advice, and consultancy services based on advanced knowledge. The successful candidate will be someone with the ability to apply evidence-based practices, including the in-depth checking of all chemotherapy protocols, ensuring that treatment is appropriate and correctly funded, monitoring of biochemical parameters of patients, and provision of advice to healthcare staff on the management of adverse effects to ensure safe and effective treatment.About the role:Contributes to the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols that support the continuum of care and assists in developing standards of professional practice relevant to cancer care practice in the Pharmacy Department and within the service.Monitor and report on clinical practices and outcomes within clinical service area and actively participate in initiating, developing, and implementing quality service improvement activities that enhance the delivery of clinical pharmacy services.Coordinates and is responsible for the procurement and dispensing of specialised compounded cytotoxic agents and aseptic additives. Liaise with patients and their families, other health professionals, supervisors, students, and researchers as required to ensure continuum of care.Provide in-service training to clinicians, nursing staff, and students, and provide patient education sessions for small groups.About you:Mandatory qualification/s: Possession of a degree in Pharmacy is mandatory for this position.
