It’s no easy task, but nothing rewarding ever is.About the roleSantos is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Procurement Category Lead to drive the development and execution of sourcing strategies, category plans, contract management, and supplier relationships for key categories. In this critical role, you will contribute to the organisation’s competitive advantage by ensuring procurement activities deliver maximum value across all assets. You will be working in alignment with Santos' corporate goals, fostering strong stakeholder relationships, and leading complex procurement and contract negotiations.Key Responsibilities :Lead sourcing and contract management activities for assigned procurement categories across all assets.Manage end-to-end procurement requirements for assigned category contract portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives.Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs, ensuring growth, supply security, and compliance with safety and social license requirements.Identify and implement category improvement initiatives to achieve optimal cost savings and sustainability.Lead and coach negotiation teams to ensure successful and unified negotiation outcomes.Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a secure supply chain and cost-effective sourcing.Proactively seek and support procurement efficiency opportunities.Ensure compliance with Santos’ Management System (SMS), Delegation of Authority (DOA), corporate governance, and safety policies.Promote and maintain high health and safety standards across procurement activities.What you’ll bringPrevious experience in oil and gas or similar industry8+ years procurement experienceHighly knowledgeable in Procurement, Category Management and Strategic SourcingYour proven track record in contract management and supplier relationship management demonstrates your ability to deliver results. With a strong expertise in commercial negotiations and the development of procurement strategies, you consistently drive value and efficiency.The following skills and experience are highly desirable :A deep understanding of major capital equipment procurement and international sourcing.Have experience in upstream oil and gas projects, including onshore, Brownfield, and Greenfield developments.Knowledge of a variety of categories, such as well-site skid fabrication, HDPE and steel transmission / gathering lines, electrical and instrumentation equipment, and pumps.A keen understanding of OEM and aftermarket supply sources.Strong commercial acumen, effective communication and presentation skills.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.What you’ll get :Here, you’ll be amongst high-caliber people and get to work on industry-leading projects.
