About Us Waverley Social Enterprises (WSE) is a leading provider in the disability-supported employment services sector, dedicated to transforming the lives of people living with disabilities. Currently, WSE supports over 300 individuals across our two sites—Notting Hill and Hallam—by providing meaningful employment opportunities in various sectors, including packaging, assembly, warehousing, grounds maintenance, catering, and on-site labour hire.About the role Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact in a supportive, purpose-driven environment? We are looking for a Commis Chef or recently qualified Chef on a 12-month contract. In this role, you will work alongside people with disabilities, assisting with catering production and providing valuable training to help them develop new skills. Under the guidance of senior chefs, you will support the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes while upholding high standards of hygiene and efficiency. This is a hands-on role where you'll collaborate with the catering team to ensure quality food delivery in a positive, team-oriented environment. Fantastic family friendly daytime hours Monday to Friday. Key Responsibilities: Assist in job setup for catering production, ensuring requirements are clear and understood by all team members.Support various kitchen sections and delivery function to meet daily production needs.Conduct regular product inspections to ensure quality standards.Work closely with Support Mentors to address any challenges impacting supported employees' performance and retention.Provide hands-on training and upskilling to supported employees.Our Ideal Candidate Desired: Experience in a high-volume kitchen, preferably as a Commis Chef or in a similar role.Strong culinary skills, knowledge of food safety, and a passion for quality food.Excellent time management, organisational, and communication skills.A genuine commitment to supporting people with disabilities in the workplace.Certificate IV in Commercial Cooking or relevant qualification is advantageous.Join us and help make a difference while working in a positive and inclusive environment!What Benefits Can WSE Provide You?
