Sikh Volunteers Australia is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing essential community support and services to those in need.Our programs aim to uplift individuals through acts of service, promoting wellness and mindfulness in alignment with Sikh values.Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Music Teacher to teach our volunteers the art of music, mindfulness, and deep relaxation techniques through traditional Sikh music.The successful candidate will have exceptional patience, communication skills, and mastery of traditional Sikh string instruments.The role requires teaching both one-on-one and group sessions, including students with little or no prior experience in music or singing.Vocal experience is a bonus.This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by promoting well-being and mindfulness among our volunteers while fostering appreciation for Sikh cultural music.Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver music lesson plans that integrate relaxation and mindfulness techniques.Teach volunteers how to play traditional Sikh string instruments such as Rabab, Taus, Dilruba, and Sarangi.Lead individual and group music sessions, focusing on both technical skills and emotional well-being through music.Inspire and motivate volunteers to engage in cultural events, music performances, and relaxation practices through the art of music.Provide constructive feedback, criticism, and encouragement to students.Adapt teaching methods to cater to adult learners, especially those with no prior experience in music or singing.Collaborate with the team for performances and community events.Requirements: A minimum of 10 years of teaching experience with traditional Sikh string instruments.Ability to play and teach a variety of Sikh music instruments.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and engage learners of all skill levels.Patience and creativity in working with adult learners who have no previous music experience.Vocal experience is highly desirable.Commitment to promoting mindfulness, relaxation, and well-being through music.Benefits Competitive salary of $73,000 - $80,000 per annum + superannuation.An opportunity to be part of a respected non-profit organisation making a positive impact in the community.A supportive and inclusive work environment.How to Apply If you are passionate about teaching music and committed to promoting mindfulness through traditional Sikh instruments, we would love to hear from you!Click the "Apply" button or send your resume to ******, including your contact details.Please note: Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
