As a member of Bloomberg's External Relations department, our team is responsible for leading the firm's strategy and engagement with Government and Regulatory authorities in relation to policy formation and regulations impacting Bloomberg and our clients.
Our team constructively contributes to the policy making process by responding to public consultations, participating in expert Working Groups, convening high-level stakeholders and delivering regulatory adherence solutions. We build and maintain a wide and deep network of partners through the organisation of high-level summits and round-tables with key decision makers and senior business leaders.
What's the role?We are looking for an APAC Regulatory Specialist with a proven track record of strategic regulatory and institutional engagement across APAC. You will work closely with a wide range of colleagues to engage senior decision makers and regulators as they develop policy around capital markets and transparency, digital finance, operational resilience and sustainable finance. Experience with market structure and electronic trading will be a plus.
As part of your work, you will work closely with senior members of our External Relations team in APAC as well as other key colleagues globally. The role will be based in Sydney, Australia.
We'll trust you to:Support engagement with senior decision makers and regulators within financial marketsExecute on the wider advocacy and engagement priorities of the region, as well as support the APAC team's responsibilities (e.g. production of senior briefings, tracking of regulatory updates)Understand and articulate the impact of regulations, and help to drive for cross-market solutionsBuild and manage industry association relationships to monitor and engage on key issues, develop cohesive corporate narrative, and contribute to strategic positioning.Design, organise and execute regulatory and policy engagement activities and high-level regulatory conferences and events across APACWork closely with cross-departmental colleagues, locally and globally, both with business stakeholders as well as our Legal, Compliance, Communications and Marketing teamsYou'll need to have:6-8 years' experience working directly or collaborating with policymakers and regulatory authoritiesExperience working in financial services in a legal, government & regulatory affairs, or Policy Advisor capacityStrong ability to influence both internally and externallyAbility to understand domestic nuances and global developmentsOutstanding critical thinking, research, analysis and communication skillsProven track record of being a strong strategic thinker and executor, with outstanding collaboration skillsAbility to navigate in a dynamic and fast-paced environmentFluency in English to communicate with stakeholders across APACDemonstrated continuous career growth within an organisationDoes this sound like you?Apply if you think we're a good match!
