About the Role:
Reporting to the Executive Manager, The Team Leader Behaviour Support and Developmental Education will work closely with stakeholders and participants to ensure high-quality, person-centred service delivery.
This role involves direct case practice, including the development and implementation of Behaviour Support Plans, post-incident support, and therapeutic or behavioural interventions.
Additionally, you will collaborate with families, carers, staff, and external professionals, providing expert recommendations, writing and updating Behaviour Support Plans, reporting on restrictive practices, and delivering therapeutic support as required.
This position also requires both inter- and intrastate travel to support participants effectively across various locations.

Duties:
* Provide operational leadership and line management to a team of Behaviour Support Practitioners and Developmental Educators, ensuring effective service delivery and professional growth.
* Oversee the development, implementation, and quality evaluation of Behaviour Support Plans, ensuring they align with best practices and compliance standards.
* Deliver specialised behaviour support to Elevate clients, their families, and support networks, focusing on enhancing quality of life and addressing behaviours of concern.
* Conduct a broad range of comprehensive and complex assessments, including functional behaviour and developmental assessments, to inform effective intervention strategies.
* Demonstrate expertise and experience in line with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements for a Proficient or higher Practitioner under the PBS Capability Framework.
* Leverage strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively with senior leaders, managers, and team members, fostering a culture of partnership and shared expertise.
* Provide clinical supervision to Core Practitioners and peer supervision for Proficient/Advanced Practitioners, supporting professional development and best practice implementation.
* Ensure the identification, documentation, and reporting of restrictive practices while meeting all compliance timeframes and requirements.
* Maintain a comprehensive understanding of relevant behaviour support legislation and policies, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
* Assist, when required, in reviewing and approving Core Practitioner Behaviour Support Plans that contain restrictive practices, ensuring ethical and regulatory compliance.
Skills and Experience:
* Minimum 2 years' experience working in Disability with Behaviours of Concerns.
* Recognised qualification in appropriate allied health discipline.
* Experience in professional / clinician supervision and development.
* The successful candidate will need to be registered or gain registration and approval by NDIS for the purpose of reporting restrictive practices.
* Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support, including functional behaviour assessments, intervention, service delivery, and restrictive practice.
* Knowledge of NDIS legislation, SA legislation, and reporting guidelines and timelines.
* Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, communicate exceptionally, work autonomously or within a team environment.
* Demonstrated knowledge and a contemporary understanding of the disability sector including workforce, the NDIS, industrial relations, disability human rights and the barriers/opportunities to community inclusion and employment for people with disability.
Clearances Required:
* NDIS Worker Screening Check, and Working with Children Check (or any applicable checks necessary for work in this sector).
* Current driver license and current right to work in Australia.
* Ability to undertake additional hours of work, and willing to undertake inter/intrastate travel as required.
