We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Finance Controller who demonstrates previous experience in a similar role with a commitment to service excellence and professionalism.
This role provides management for and works as part of an inclusive, supportive and high performing team, within a values-based environment.
Reporting to the Business Manager, this role will help to facilitate the timely and accurate management of all aspects of the College finances.
This includes the day-to-day management of financial function, financial reporting, taxation, grant funding, insurances, payroll and certain Government reporting requirements.
This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) role commencing as soon as possible.
The successful applicants will have: Certified Practising Accountant or Institute of Chartered Accountant qualifications.Demonstrated understanding of payroll.Proven ability to manage and mentor staff, creating a working environment that is effective, harmonious and positive.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.In-depth understanding of GST, ideally as it relates to a not-for-profit organisation.Ability to complete BAS and Fringe Benefits Tax returns.Experience in a school environment will be highly desirable, although is not essential.Hold a current Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance (or be willing to obtain).Have or be prepared to obtain Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School.Hold appropriate Australian Work rights.Employment Conditions and Benefits: Aquinas College provides a supportive, inclusive, stimulating and spiritual work environment, with access to outstanding facilities and resources to enable academic excellence, in a beautiful setting overlooking the Canning River.
