CRVCID 663782 Position Profile We are seeking experienced and motivated Coordinator of Language Services to support equitable access to healthcare for all patients, and particularly Aboriginal, Deaf and non-English speaking patients and their families at Perth Children's Hospital.
Reporting to the Head of Department, Social Work, you will apply highly developed communication and interpersonal skills for the day to day operations of interpreting and translating needs at Perth Children's Hospital. This includes managing and supervising interpreters, participating in and delivering staff education and training, and facilitating the planning, development, evaluation and improvement of Language Services.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include Managing the provision and scheduling of interpreters to ensure appropriate languages and interpreters are provided. Facilitating the provision of translations of health information and documents. Administering the daily operation of the Language Services budget and resources including verifying payment of invoices from external agencies to maintain a cost-effective service. Promoting, delivering and participating in staff supervision, development and teaching on language services for the provision of high-quality health care. About Our Department Based at Perth Children's Hospital, the Social Work Department comprises over 50 individuals including Social Workers, Aboriginal Liaison Officers and Welfare Officers. Our team provides compassionate support, expertise and guidance working with families from diverse backgrounds as they navigate life with a child's health condition or injury.
